All-on-4 Dental Implants
All-on-4® implants placed at our Knoxville, TN, practice make the benefits of implants accessible to a greater number of patients in need.
Complete Your Smile in a Single Visit
Dental implants have helped millions reclaim health and confidence, but not everyone is a candidate for traditional implants.
Why should you consider an implant-supported restoration?
Skip the Bone Grafting
While jawbone atrophy may disqualify you from traditional dental implants, the All-on-4 technique can often be performed without the need for a bone graft. This can allow you to receive a more secure restoration faster.
Fewer Implant Posts
With All-on-4 dental implants, only 4 posts are needed to secure your denture. This is because the posts are strategically placed with two positioned vertically and the other two at 45-degree angles to maximize surface contact with bone tissue.
An Instantly Restored Smile
Many patients are concerned about going without teeth between dental implant surgery and final restoration placement. With All-on-4, you will receive a high-quality temporary restoration that fits comfortably on the same day as surgery.

The Majority of Patients Are Satisfied with Their Results
Do other patients recommend All-on-4? 98% of All-on-4 patients recommend the treatment to others, according to the Journal of Oral Implantology.
A New Smile for Patients
All-on-4 treatment can solve your individual oral health issues. For the majority of us, implants can help if you have:
Removable Dentures
Eating, speaking, and smiling all become more complicated without teeth. Dentures supported by dental implants stay in place, eliminating the embarrassment and discomfort of unstable traditional dentures. In addition, implants are uniquely capable of mimicking the actions of natural tooth roots, protecting your jaw against atrophy.
Full Arch of Missing Teeth
Whether you are missing all of the teeth in your upper jaw or lower jaw, All-on-4 can help your denture feel more secure and look more natural. Our surgeons work closely with a lab to create dentures that match the color and shape of your remaining teeth.
Complete Tooth Loss
According to the American College of Prosthodontists, over 36 million Americans are living without any teeth. If you are a completely edentulous patient, implant-supported upper and lower dentures can look, feel, and function just like natural teeth, dramatically enhancing your quality of life.
More About All-on-4
For patients missing a full arch of teeth, the All-on-4® dental implants method supports a denture using only four implants instead of six or eight. This technique saves time and money and can eliminate the need for bone grafting. At Knoxville Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, P.C., in Knoxville, TN, our doctors can provide All-on-4 to qualifying patients who need to replace all of their teeth in the upper jaw, lower jaw, or both. Drs. Turner P. Emery and Frank Rizzo can strategically place implant posts to create a stable base for your dentures. In many cases, All-on-4 implants can support a denture immediately after they are placed.
The two posterior implants are placed at angles for maximum support.
Why Choose All-on-4?
For qualifying patients, All-on-4 is:
- Cost-effective
- Graftless
- Efficient
- Stable
The posterior implants are angled to achieve maximum surface contact with the jaw. This gives the implants the strength to provide superior support even if your jaw has experienced some degree of atrophy. Your doctor can also place a temporary restoration immediately after your implant surgery, allowing you to enjoy immediate function and improved quality of life.
The Placement Process
On the day of your appointment, Dr. Emery or Dr. Rizzo will perform your All-on-4 procedure in our private surgical center. They will create small incisions into your gum tissue while you are under sedation and insert the four posts into your jaw bone. The front two posts are placed vertically, while the back posts are placed at a 45-degree angle. We can determine the ideal locations for your implants in advance by using scans and x-rays of your jaw.
The All-on-4 technique saves time and money, and can eliminate the need for bone grafting.
At the end of your appointment, you can leave our office with a full set of functional, natural-looking teeth. You can wear your temporary restoration for the next three to six months. During the healing period, the implants will fuse with the surrounding tissue in a process called osseointegration. Once your jaw fully heals, you will return to your dentist’s office for placement of your final restoration.

Testimonials From Our Patients
We are proud to be able to provide our patients with access to first-rate surgical care, cutting-edge procedures, and an overall outstanding experience.
Dr. Emery and his staff are so amazing. They really go the extra mile to make you comfortable and Dr. Emery’s bedside manner is like none I’ve ever seen before! He’s one of those doctors you hope you don’t have to go back to, but will be the ONLY one I do go to if it’s ever needed again. My only complaint is that he’s not in general dentistry because i wouldn’t be so terrified to go to a dentist if it was him. Great guy, great staff, great atmosphere!
- Allison Fritz
Awesome Staff, Excellent Doctors, Great Prices! Turned a ‘bad day’ into great experience! Been there twice- almost 2 years apart. Rock solid and highly recommended!
- Max Zimmerman
Painless procedures and quick recoveries. Couldn’t be more pleased. Highly recommend these oral surgeons.
- Robin Hutchins
Dr. Emery did a fantastic job in providing tooth extraction and replacement with a dental implant. I had been anxious and he relieved my concerns immediately. He and his team provided a relatively pain-free experience and were available to answer all my questions quickly and professionally. I was so pleased with them that I took my daughter to Dr. Emery for her wisdom teeth extraction. We were both surprised at how well her pain had been managed and she never had to use opioids! If we need oral surgery again, we know where to go! Thank you, Dr. Emery, Dawn, Amanda, Meghan, Hannah, Wendy, and all the others!
- Lea Alexander
I have been terribly afraid of dentistry/oral surgery since having a very bad experience several years ago. When I learned that I had to have an implant, I was so anxious. However, I literally just walked out of this procedure, performed by Dr. Emery, and it was unequivocally the best experience I have ever had as far as my teeth. He was kind, patient, and gentle. I didn’t need sedation or nitrous oxide. I’m thrilled!
